Just entering Glacier Bay
Just entering Glacier Bay

After a night of little sleep, I was listening for wolves after hearing one howl twice at around 2.30am, we headed towards Glacier Bay.

We have a 7 day permit for entry to the bay from the 26th July. We do however need to get supplies, do the mandatory orientation and visit some folks. So we rang the Ranger Service to see if we could get an additional short stay permit for 3 days so we can get into Gustavus. We were granted the extra permit.

So here I sit, in Bartlett Bay, the orientation is done and we are having lunch at the Glacier Bay Lodge.

This afternoon we have to move the boat and anchor in the harbour and then use Dinky (our little skiff) to go to and from the shore. We can only dock for 3 hours per day. What fun!
