We are safe, we are well…

We thought we’d fixed the boat. We left Elfin Cove, went to Hoonah and everything seemed OK. We made our way to Pleasant Island where we spent a night… no wolves.
We then headed to Idaho Inlet for a wilderness experience on the tidal river. Luck was not on our side. There were a raft of other boats by the evening. We had planned on a trip up the river to see bears, however as we prepared Dinky ( our little skiff) we heard a whining sound and out of the river came a jet propulsion boat at full speed. The engine noise got louder and louder. With that noise the wildlife would have been frightened away for several hours. We didn’t have several hours to wait because of the tide. So that was a missed opportunity.
We then tried to turn the engine on to have hot water for a shower and it wouldn’t start… water in the cylinders, again! This time we were out of all coverage, we couldn’t even get a radio signal. So Rusty drained the water out of the cylinder. This morning we started the boat and we are currently making a run for Hoonah to try and sort it out once and for all.
Just to make you aware, we had not heard about the Earthquake or tsunami warning until about 30mins ago when we finally had cell coverage. We are OK. It was not in our area. We are safe ( current boat issues aside)
